U.S.-China Relations
The U.S.-China relationship is arguably the world’s most important bilateral relationship. As the world’s two largest economies and two of the most populated countries in the world, the relationship between the two countries has an outsized effect not only on the United States and China, but on the entire global community. The two nations have never been more deeply intertwined, yet the bilateral relationship is at its lowest point in decades. Addressing issues integral to today’s relationship as well as topics that will be critical in the coming years and decades, the Bush China Foundation seeks to find ways to build a U.S.-China relationship that is functional, mutually beneficial and politically sustainable, notwithstanding the real and significant tensions and challenges in the bilateral relationship.
