Nancy S. Travis

Nancy Travis is a seasoned global government affairs executive with more than 25 years of experience in healthcare and international trade. She is the founder & CEO of Travis Global Strategies, a Washington, DC-based consulting firm specializing in government relations strategies for technology-intensive industries.

Previously, she was vice president for international affairs at the Biotechnology Innovation Organization (BIO), where she led the association’s global efforts to advance innovation and access to biotech solutions in healthcare, agriculture and climate change.

Prior to joining BIO, Ms. Travis held positions as vice president for global compliance and global strategy at the Advanced Medical Technology Association (AdvaMed), where she promoted code of ethics compliance worldwide and market access solutions in China and the Asia-Pacific region for medical device manufacturers.

Before joining the non-profit community, Ms. Travis had a career in public service, most recently as deputy director of the Office of Economic Policy in the Asia-Pacific Bureau of the State Department, where she focused on regional economic and trade policy and served as a U.S. delegate to the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) forum.

Ms. Travis holds a master of international affairs degree from Columbia University and a bachelor’s degree from Vassar College. Ms. Travis lives in Falls Church, Virginia with her husband and two daughters. In her spare time, she indulges a passion for classic cars and enjoys attending middle-school dance and theater performances.
