Angelos Angelou

Angelos Angelou is the founder and CEO of the International Accelerator (IA) and AngelouEconomics (AE). IA recruits exclusively foreign-born entrepreneurs to its program in the United States. It assists its 18 portfolio companies to scale their business and raises equity capital for them. IA has established relations with advisors and incubators in 55 countries around the world.

For over 25 years, AE has been a leading consulting company in economic development strategy (600 cities in the U.S.), corporate site location consulting (located $18 billion worth of projects world-wide for Fortune 1,000 companies) and economic impact studies and feasibility studies for over 250 clients in the United States.

Mr. Angelou was an executive with the Austin Chamber of Commerce for nearly 12 years; he served there as vice president of economic development and chief economist. During his time at the Chamber, Mr. Angelou handled the recruitment of 800 technology companies and some 70,000 employees. His record of achievements includes the attraction of $26 billion in capital investments and the creation of over 285,000 direct and indirect jobs in the City of Austin and State of Texas. 

Mr. Angelou recently received a Proclamation from the Texas governor and the mayor of Austin in recognition for his 30-year leadership and contribution to economic development in the State of Texas and the City of Austin. He was awarded the U.S. Economic Development of the Year award by Site Selection Magazine. 

Current and past appointments include board and advisory posts at the US-China Innovation Alliance, the International Economic Development Council (IEDC), the College of Natural Sciences at The University of Texas at Austin, the Social Sciences Department at St. Edwards University and the World Information Technology Conference.
