Dong Wang is executive director of the Institute for Global Cooperation and Understanding (iGCU) and a full professor at the School of International Studies at Peking University. He also holds a university administrative post as deputy director of the Office for Humanities and Social Sciences at Peking University. Dr. Wang received his bachelor’s degree from Peking University and PhD from the University of California, Los Angeles.

Concurrently, Dr. Wang sits on the advisory committees of several prestigious academic institutions as well as the editorial boards of several leading academic journals. He has published extensively in leading academic and media outlets such as Journal of Conflict Resolution, Diplomatic History, The Pacific Review, The New York Times and The Diplomat. He is the author of Re-globalization: When China Meets the World Again (Routledge, 2020) and co-editor of US-China Relations: Power Transition and Its Implications for Europe and Asia (Routledge, 2020) and Avoiding the Thucydides Trap: US-China Relations in Strategic Domains (Routledge, 2020). Dr. Wang has received many prestigious awards, including distinctions as a Munich Young Leader in 2016 and a Preeminent Young Scientist of Beijing in 2018, where he was ranked number one in the category of humanities and social sciences.
