The George H. W. Bush Foundation for U.S.-China Relations partnered with the Pacific Basin Economic Council (PBEC) for a webinar on “Achieving Equitable Supply Chain Transparency” led by PBEC moderator Anson Bailey. Speakers included experts from KPMG China, the Bush China Foundation, Serai by HSBC, University of Arkansas & Monash University Malaysia, who discussed achieving regional Supply Chain Transparency in the Asia Pacific. The webinar explored existing operational risks in sourcing and from the suppliers perspective, the current challenges and opportunities emerging to achieve a greener supply chain downstream and upstream for brands, and the ongoing geopolitical landscape and trade agreements.

Professor Dr. John Kent Senior Fellow (Director of Supply Chain China Initiatives at the Sam M. Walton College of Business @Bush China Foundation & University of Arkansas)

John L. Kent is the director of Supply Chain China Initiatives and a clinical professor in the Department of Supply Chain Management in the Sam M. Walton College of Business at the University of Arkansas. In addition to teaching supply chain courses in Fayetteville, his responsibilities include multiple supply chain research projects and cooperative academic programs throughout China. Dr. Kent received his PhD in logistics and transportation from The University of Tennessee, an MBA in international management from the University of Dallas. Dr. Kent is a Senior Fellow at the Bush China Foundation. His industry experience included the development and implementation of information systems at Burlington Northern Motor Carriers, CSX Transportation Intermodal and Sea-Land Service. Dr. Kent’s research has been published in the Journal of Business Logistics, Transportation Journal and Int’l Journals.

Anson Bailey (Head of Consumer & Retail, ASPAC / Head of Technology @KPMG China & PBEC Director)

Anson has been active in driving a number of thought leadership reports and executive briefings for senior executives covering innovation and consumers in China and across Asia. He has worked with many corporates to understand the complex markets we live in and current levels of disruption being seen with recent reports. He is a fantastic Moderator and Public Speaker for PBEC.

Today, he not only mentors the next generation of go-to-market professionals at KPMG but continues to work with a growing number of C-level executives as a trusted advisor in providing the best in client innovation whilst acting as the Lead Partner for a number of strategic accounts in the consumer and technology arena across the Asia Pacific region.
