September 12-14, 2021 (Virtual)

The 12th U.S.-China High-Level Political Party Leaders Dialogue convened on Sunday, September 12, 2021 and ended on Tuesday, September 14, 2021. The virtual event was organized by the George H. W. Bush Foundation for U.S.-China Relations and the International Department of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China (IDCPC). The opening session was moderated by Guo Yezhou, the Vice Minister of the IDCPC.

Over the course of the three-day dialogue, the group discussed recent developments in U.S. and Chinese domestic political affairs and future prospects for U.S.-China relations. The final session featured a virtual meeting with Yang Jiechi, Director of the Central Foreign Affairs Commission Office and Member, Political Bureau, Central Committee of the Communist Party of China. These discussions included both Republicans and Democrats, members of the Communist Party of China, as well as leaders with the Bush China Foundation, who participated on a nonpartisan basis.
