A view of COVID through the lens of U.S.-China relations

December 17, 2020

COVID-19 has undoubtedly been a very negative factor in the relationship between the U.S. and China. This situation has fostered a new dynamic of distrust, and holds significant bearing on the future relations between these two nations.

Dr. Thomas Frieden, former Director of the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), joins David Firestein to explore the COVID-19 impact through the lens of U.S.-China relations, how the incoming Biden administration may approach this issue and whether the United States and China can actually learn from COVID-19, as a means to improve cooperation in the area of global health.

Currently, Dr. Frieden is President & CEO of “Resolve to Save Lives,” an initiative that focuses on preventing epidemics and cardiovascular disease.
