The U.S.-China Relationship in 40 Years

Ten exceptionally talented individuals—five Chinese and five Americans—in their late 20s and early 30s met for two days of discussion and team-building activities prior to the start of the 2019 George H. W. Bush Conference on U.S.-China Relations. Tackling the question of what the U.S.-China relationship will look like in 40 years, the Masterminds focused on trends in the domestic United States, trends in mainland China and Hong Kong as well as in cross-Strait relations, the future of global security and trade and investment trends. Following the two days of discussions, which included numerous conversations with senior experts serving as mentors, the Masterminds presented their observations and conclusions to all conference attendees on the second day of the conference.
